Preposition
A preposition is a word used before a noun or pronoun to show the relationship between people, places, things, or time in a sentence. It helps us understand position, direction, time, and connection. Common prepositions are in, on, at, under, behind, between, and with.
Examples:
• The book is on the table.
• She arrived at school early.
Prepositions make sentences clear and meaningful by connecting different parts of a sentence properly.
Preposition वह शब्द होता है जो किसी noun या pronoun के पहले आकर उसके संबंध को किसी व्यक्ति, स्थान, वस्तु या समय से जोड़ता है। यह स्थान, दिशा, समय और संबंध को स्पष्ट करता है। सामान्य prepositions हैं: in, on, at, under, behind, between, और with। Preposition वाक्य को स्पष्ट और अर्थपूर्ण बनाने में मदद करता है।

Preposition “ABOVE” – All Possible Uses
“Above” means at a higher position, level, or rank than something else. It usually shows position, level, amount, age, rank, or standard.
“Above” का अर्थ है किसी चीज़ से ऊँची स्थिति, स्तर या पद पर होना। यह सामान्यतः स्थिति, स्तर, मात्रा, आयु, पद या स्तर (स्टैंडर्ड) को दर्शाता है।
1. Physical position (higher than, not touching)
भौतिक स्थिति (ऊपर, लेकिन स्पर्श नहीं कर रहा)
“Above” is used when something is higher than another thing, but not directly touching it.
“Above” का उपयोग तब होता है जब कोई वस्तु दूसरी वस्तु से ऊँची हो, लेकिन उसे छू नहीं रही हो।

“Above” ≠ “on” (on means touching).
👉 अंतर: “Above” का मतलब छुए बिना ऊपर, जबकि “on” का मतलब छूते हुए ऊपर।
2. Higher level or height (measurement)
ऊँचाई या स्तर (माप के रूप में)
Used for height, temperature, level, or altitude.
ऊँचाई, तापमान, स्तर या ऊँचाई (altitude) बताने के लिए उपयोग होता है।

3. More than a number, amount, or quantity
संख्या या मात्रा से अधिक
“Above” is used to mean more than a certain number or limit.
“Above” का उपयोग किसी निश्चित संख्या या सीमा से अधिक के लिए किया जाता है।

Children above 10 years are allowed.
10 वर्ष से ऊपर के बच्चों को अनुमति है।
The salary is above ₹50,000 per month.

4. Age, rank, or status (higher position)
आयु, पद या स्थिति (ऊँचा स्तर)
Used for social position, authority, rank, or age.
सामाजिक स्थिति, अधिकार, पद या आयु के लिए उपयोग होता है।

5. Moral or ethical sense (superior, not affected by)
नैतिक अर्थ (श्रेष्ठ, प्रभावित न होने वाला)
“Above” shows moral superiority or control over feelings.
“Above” नैतिक श्रेष्ठता या भावनाओं पर नियंत्रण को दर्शाता है।

8. Comparison (better than / superior to)
तुलना (बेहतर या श्रेष्ठ)
“Above” is used when comparing quality or standard.

9. Distance or position on a scale
पैमाने या सूची में स्थिति
Used in figures, graphs, ranks, or lists.
आंकड़ों, ग्राफ, रैंक या सूची में उपयोग होता है।
