Causative Sentences

🏫 Classroom Conversation: Master Causative Sentences in English Grammar

स्थान: व्याकरण की विशेष क्लास

पात्र: अध्यापक (Teacher – अमित सर), रोहन (Rohan), प्रिया (Priya), और अमन (Aman)

📍 Part 1: Causative Sentences का बेसिक कांसेप्ट (Concept & Rules)

A causative sentence shows that someone causes another person to do an action, or gets something done by someone else.”

1. MAKE (Force / Compel – मजबूर करना)

अमित सर: अमन, बताओ जब कोई किसी पर अधिकार या दबाव डालकर काम करवाता है, तो किसका प्रयोग करेंगे?

अमन: सर, वहाँ Make का प्रयोग होगा!

अमित सर: शाबाश! इसका स्ट्रक्चर होता है:

👉 Subject + make + object + base verb (V1)

(⚠️ क्लासरूम टिप: ध्यान रखना कि ‘Make’ के साथ ऑब्जेक्ट के बाद सीधे V1 आता है, ‘to + V1’ कभी मत लगाना!)

  • अमित सर: “I made him apologize.” (मैंने उसे माफ़ी माँगने पर मजबूर किया।)

  • प्रिया: “The teacher made the students write the test.” (शिक्षक ने छात्रों से टेस्ट लिखवाया।)

  • रोहन: “She made me wait outside.” (उसने मुझे बाहर इंतज़ार करने पर मजबूर किया।)

  • अमन: “The boss made her work late.” (बॉस ने उससे देर तक काम करवाया।)

  • अमित सर: “This movie made me cry.” (इस फिल्म ने मुझे रुला दिया।)

2. HAVE (Arrange / Assign – काम करवाना या व्यवस्था करना)

अमित सर: अब जब हम किसी को उसकी जिम्मेदारी या नौकरी के तहत काम करने को कहते हैं, तब Have का प्रयोग करते हैं। इसमें ‘Make’ जैसा दबाव नहीं होता।

👉 Subject + have + object + base verb (V1)

  • प्रिया: “I had the mechanic repair my bike.” (मैंने मिस्त्री से अपनी बाइक ठीक करवायी।)

  • रोहन: “She had the maid clean the room.” (उसने नौकरानी से कमरा साफ करवाया।)

  • अमन: “He had the barber cut his hair.” (उसने नाई से बाल कटवाए।)

  • अमित सर: “We had them complete the work.” और “The manager had his assistant call me.”

3. GET (Persuade / Manage – मनाकर या राजी करके काम करवाना)

अमित सर: बच्चों, अपनी कॉपी में इस नियम को स्टार (⭐) बनाकर नोट कर लो! जब हम किसी को प्यार से, समझा-बुझाकर या राजी करके काम करवाते हैं, तो Get का इस्तेमाल करते हैं।

👉 Subject + get + object + to + verb (V1)

(⚠️ परीक्षा का नियम: Make और Have के साथ सीधे V1 आता है, लेकिन Get के साथ हमेशा ‘to + V1’ लगाना अनिवार्य है!)

  • रोहन: “I got him to help me.” (मैंने उसे मेरी मदद करने के लिए मना लिया—यहाँ ‘to help’ आया!)

  • प्रिया: “She got her brother to study.” (उसने अपने भाई को पढ़ने के लिए मना लिया।)

  • अमन: “He got the worker to finish early.” (उसने मजदूर से जल्दी काम पूरा करवा लिया।)

  • अमित सर: “We got them to agree.” और “The teacher got the students to speak English.”

4. LET (Allow / Permit – अनुमति देना)

अमित सर: ‘Let’ का इस्तेमाल किसी को कोई काम करने की इजाज़त देने के लिए होता है। इसके तीनों फॉर्म ‘Let’ ही रहते हैं और इसके साथ भी सीधे V1 आता है।

👉 Subject + let + object + base verb (V1)

  • प्रिया: “She let me go early.” (उसने मुझे जल्दी जाने दिया।)

  • रोहन: “My father let me use his phone.” (पिताजी ने फोन इस्तेमाल करने दिया।)

  • अमन: “The teacher let the students ask questions.” (शिक्षक ने सवाल पूछने दिए।)

  • अमित सर: “Don’t let him enter the room.” और “They let us play outside.”

📍 Part 2: Tense Wise Master Chart (With Causative Verb “Have”)

Rohan: Sir, if the tense changes, does the main verb like ‘repair’ also change?

(रोहन: सर, अगर टेंस बदलता है, तो क्या ‘repair’ जैसी मुख्य क्रिया भी बदलती है?)

Teacher: No, Rohan! That is the golden rule: When the tense changes, only the Causative Verb (Have/Having/Had) changes its form. The main action verb (V1) remains unchanged!

(शिक्षक: नहीं रोहन! यही सबसे बड़ा गुरु-मंत्र है: जब टेंस बदलता है, तो केवल Causative Verb (Have/Having/Had) का रूप बदलता है। मुख्य क्रिया (V1) हमेशा वैसी ही रहती है!)

Let’s see all 12 tenses with the example of repairing a bike:

3. HAVE

(शिक्षक: प्रिया, जब पैसिव causative में ऑब्जेक्ट (वस्तु) क्रिया से पहले आ जाता है, तब क्या होता है?)

Priya: Sir, the object comes first followed by the third form of the verb (V3)!

(प्रिया: सर, वस्तु पहले आती है और उसके बाद वर्ब की थर्ड फॉर्म (V3) लगती है!)

(शिक्षक: बिल्कुल सही! इन उदाहरणों को देखो:)

🎯 Conclusion (निष्कर्ष)

अंग्रेज़ी व्याकरण में Causative Sentences (Make, Have, Get, Let)
