There (Perfect Continuous)

Past Perfect Continuous (Existential “There”)

Past Perfect Continuous Tense में “there” का प्रयोग यह बताने के लिए किया जाता है कि भूतकाल में कोई चीज़, स्थिति, या घटना कुछ समय तक लगातार मौजूद थी या होती रही थी, किसी दूसरी past घटना से पहले। इसकी structure होती है: “There had been + noun + verb-ing / complement + time”। इसका प्रयोग तब होता है जब हम बताना चाहते हैं कि कोई कार्य/स्थिति past में कुछ समय से जारी थी। जैसे “There had been heavy rain for two hours before the match started.” अर्थात मैच शुरू होने से पहले दो घंटे तक लगातार बारिश हो रही थी। दूसरा उदाहरण: “There had been people waiting outside the hall since morning before the gates opened.” अर्थात गेट खुलने से पहले सुबह से लोग बाहर इंतजार कर रहे थे। इसलिए जब भी आपको बताना हो कि भूतकाल में कोई चीज़ कुछ समय से लगातार हो रही थी या मौजूद थी, तब “there had been” का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
